Air Fryer
Air Fryer Stuffing Balls
Crisp sage and onion stuffing balls in the air fryer from a packet in about 12 minutes. Why the mix has to stand before you roll it.
Ingredients
- 1 x 170g packet sage and onion stuffing mix
- Boiling water, as the packet says (usually about 425ml for 170g)
- 15g butter (optional)
- Oil spray
Method
- Tip the stuffing mix into a bowl, pour on the boiling water (and stir in the butter, if using) and mix with a fork.
- Leave for about 10 minutes, until the mix has soaked up the water and is cool enough to handle.
- Roll into 12 walnut-sized balls.
- Put them in the air fryer basket in a single layer and spray lightly with oil.
- Air fry at 180°C (355°F) for about 12 minutes, turning halfway, until deep golden and crisp outside and hot all the way through.
- Serve straight away with the roast.
Notes
- Follow the packet for the water. Brands differ, and too much water makes balls that slump in the basket.
- Let the mix stand before rolling. Straight after mixing it is too wet and too hot to shape.
- Smaller balls cook faster. If yours are smaller than a walnut, check them at 8 minutes.
- You can roll them the day before and keep them covered in the fridge; give them a minute or two more.
- Air fryer models vary. Treat the times as a guide, go by colour and crispness, and adjust the seasoning to your taste.
Air fryer models vary in power and basket size, so treat the times here as a guide — go by colour and crispness rather than the clock, and adjust the seasoning and glaze to your taste.
