Air Fryer
Perfect Air Fryer Bacon
Air fryer bacon in eight minutes with no oil and no spitting pan, plus the slice of bread underneath that catches the fat and becomes the best part.
Ingredients
- 6 rashers streaky bacon
- 1 slice of bread, to catch the fat (optional)
Method
- Lay it out. Lay the rashers in a single layer in the basket. They can touch at the edges but must not overlap.
- Air fry. Cook at 200°C (390°F) for 7-9 minutes, turning once at 4 minutes. No oil - the bacon renders its own.
- Drain. Lift onto kitchen paper for 30 seconds. That half minute is the difference between crisp and greasy.
Notes
- No oil. Bacon renders more than enough fat on its own and adding oil makes it greasy.
- A slice of bread under the basket catches the dripping fat, stops the smoke, and gives you the best part of the recipe.
- Seven minutes for chewy, nine for shatter-crisp. Go by colour.
- Air fryer models vary. Treat the times as a guide, go by colour and crispness, and adjust the seasoning to your taste.
Watch it
Air fryer models vary in power and basket size, so treat the times here as a guide — go by colour and crispness rather than the clock, and adjust the seasoning and glaze to your taste.
